
Senior Field Service Engineer – Flow Cytometry

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Africa.
• Independently service, support, and maintain a diverse range of medical diagnostic equipment in accordance with company protocols.
• Take responsibility for analyzers designated to you as the preferred engineer.
• Exhibit strong administrative capabilities to accomplish all necessary tasks within the designated timeframe.
• Comply with all policies and procedures set forth by the service department.
• Represent the company positively to customers and actively engage in initiatives aimed at customer retention.
• Demonstrate robust analytical and technical skills to evaluate and resolve challenging analyzer issues.
• Be prepared to participate in an active call roster/standby, work overtime, and travel both locally and internationally.
• Exhibit effective communication skills to address concerns with both internal and external customers.
• Evaluate, suggest, and implement solutions for customer software and hardware-related inquiries.
• Organize your daily activities to ensure completion of commitments outlined in the business unit support agreement.
• Identify potential service, training, product sales, or future business opportunities and recommend an action plan to the relevant departments.
• Provide escalation support to Field Service Supervisors.
• A Bachelor of Technology in Electronics, N6 Electronics, Instrumentation qualification, or a Bio-medical technologist diploma or an equivalent qualification is essential.
• Proficient understanding of computer hardware and composition, along with being computer literate.
• Familiarity with ISO and Quality Management Systems.
• Experience with testing equipment such as DVMs, oscilloscopes, pressure meters, and laser test equipment.
• Technically skilled with strong interpersonal abilities to foster teamwork necessary for achieving reliability program goals; capable of working effectively in a team environment.
• Must hold a valid passport and driver's license.
• Strong time management and personal organizational skills.
• Previous experience in Life Sciences and diagnostic troubleshooting principles will be beneficial.
• Knowledge and practical experience with interfacing and ICT networking will be advantageous.
• Possess analytical and problem-solving skills: able to analyze and comprehend complex issues and develop strategies to leverage opportunities, prevent business and customer losses, and identify customer disengagement trends for escalation to appropriate channels for follow-up and resolution.
