Senior Field Engineer – Forward Deployed

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with Account Executives to identify and prioritize strategic opportunities, serving as the technical authority for intricate engagements.

• Transition clients from overarching strategies to live, operational Cognite solutions through Fast AI Prototyping with Cognite Atlas AI™ and Cognite Data Fusion®.

• Spearhead the design and execution of industrial agents utilizing the Atlas AI workbench.

• Streamline complex industrial workflows by providing technically viable, scalable solutions anchored in Cognite’s Industrial Knowledge Graph.

• Facilitate use case workshops and briefings, converting both functional and non-functional requirements into comprehensive use cases.

• Present client-centric demonstrations and reference architectures to highlight the ROI of Industrial AI.

• Convert insights from field challenges and deployment experiences into actionable product specifications and scalable best practices.

• Act as a liaison between the field operations and Cognite’s Product organization.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 3 years of experience in forward-deployed engineering or pre-sales engineering positions, preferably within enterprise SaaS, cloud platforms, or industrial software sectors.

• Robust engineering foundation.

• Proficient in Python programming.

• Comprehensive understanding of the GenAI ecosystem, including embeddings, RAG, and prompt chaining.

• Exceptional problem-solving, analytical, and communication capabilities.

• Willingness and ability to travel up to 50% as necessary.

• Preferred academic backgrounds include Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering, Physics, and Machine Learning.

• Preferred: education or experience in the industrial sector, such as Petroleum, Chemical, Mechanical, or Control System Engineering.

• Preferred: prior customer-facing or sales experience.

• Experience dealing with complex real-world industrial variables and data quality issues.

• Enthusiasm for connecting traditional heavy industry with autonomous operations through Cognite Data Fusion® and Agentic AI.
