This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Diagnose and fix issues with utility-scale solar systems, including inverters, combiner boxes, and string circuits.
• Conduct lockout/tagout (LOTO), IV curve tracing, megger/insulation testing, and infrared scans.
• Supervise and guide field technicians at active solar farm locations.
• Delegate tasks, monitor progress, and ensure projects adhere to schedules.
• Execute operations and maintenance for utility-scale solar facilities.
• Assess completed work for quality assurance and safety adherence.
• Implement OSHA and NFPA 70E safety protocols on-site.
• Identify system problems and address them directly in the field.
• Finalize work orders, service logs, and necessary documentation.
• Manage and maintain the company vehicle and required tools.
• Mentor and assist junior technicians on-site.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in utility-scale solar on solar farms or ground-mounted systems.
• Proven experience leading teams or serving as the lead technician on-site.
• Background in working with megawatt-scale photovoltaic systems, excluding residential rooftop solar.
• Strong skills in electrical troubleshooting and repair, particularly with inverters, DC systems, and power electronics.
• Familiarity with solar operations and maintenance tasks.
• Knowledge of OSHA and NFPA 70E safety regulations.
• Proficient in using multimeters, meggers, amp clamps, and other testing equipment.
• Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications.
• Capacity to lift and transport equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Willingness and ability to travel 100% to solar farm locations.
• Capability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including heat, cold, wind, and dust.
