Field Applications Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Assist the Sales Team by providing field applications engineering for motion and automation solutions.

• Create comprehensive motion and automation solutions utilizing mechanical engineering and fundamental controls engineering.

• Support system-level architectures that include actuators, motors, drives, sensors, and controllers.

• Collaborate with Sales to promote integrated automation solutions as opposed to component-only designs.

• Record and document customer requirements and interactions in CRM.

• Respond promptly to inquiries from customers and the sales team.

• Conduct engineering calculations to aid in product selection and recommendations.

• Produce drawings and models for motion systems.

• Develop an in-depth understanding of BW products, value propositions, and the competitive landscape.

• Contribute to enhancements in products, improvements in processes, and tools for customer engagement.

• Support initiatives for regional growth and new business development.

• Adapt swiftly to changes and assist with additional priorities as necessary.

• Engage directly with customers to specify, integrate, and support traditional Bishop-Wisecarver motion products and Wisecarver Automation solutions.

• Travel as required to provide the BW Signature Customer Experience and to create customized solutions ranging from mechanical-only products to fully integrated motion control systems.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field is required; a Master’s degree is preferred; Professional Engineer (PE) certification is a plus.

• 1–3 years of experience in motion systems, automation, or industrial controls.

• Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Creo, and MS Office.

• Hands-on experience with PLC- or PC-based control systems, robotics, servo/stepper motion, VFDs, sensors, and industrial networks such as EtherNet/IP and IO-Link is preferred.

• Experience supporting OEMs, integrators, or end users in applications, field, or technical sales roles is a plus.

• Strong skills in customer service, communication, analysis, and organization.

• Ability to work independently, handle multiple priorities, and adapt quickly.

• Creative, resourceful, and solution-oriented mindset.

• Applicants must be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship.

• Willingness to travel as needed.
