Senior Field Application Scientist, AMR

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Master the protocols, applications, and troubleshooting techniques for all QSI products.

• Gain an understanding of proteomic applications and align QSI products and services with the demands of the market.

• Articulate technical specifications of QSI products and applications during pre-sales meetings.

• Lead technical discussions with clients.

• Conduct seminars and present technical datasets effectively.

• Identify customer requirements and deliver solutions utilizing QSI instruments, reagents, kits, and applications.

• Create experimental plans and establish expectations throughout product evaluations.

• Prepare and present demo reports.

• Oversee the onboarding process for QSI products and software, both onsite and remotely.

• Provide onsite training for QSI instruments, software, and reagent workflows.

• Enhance instrument usage through collaboration with sales teams and customer project plans.

• Manage technical support inquiries through SFDC, email, phone, and site visits.

• Assess the need for instrument repairs and initiate the repair processes accordingly.

• Troubleshoot issues related to instruments, software, kits, and applications, escalating as necessary.

• Participate in tradeshows and advocate for customer needs.

• Contribute to application notes and technical documentation.

• Promote product positioning and messaging during customer interactions.

• Advocate for customer-requested applications to Market Development and Product Management teams.

• Report directly to the Senior Director of Field Applications and Services.

• Collaborate with sales, product management, market development, and marketing teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• A 4-year bachelor’s degree in life sciences, biology, or a related discipline.

• A Master’s or PhD is preferred, although not mandatory if the candidate has over 5 years of lab experience.

• Previous experience in a similar technical support role is required, or a combination of lab experience with a technical support aspect.

• Familiarity with proteomics, protein biology, or mass spectrometry is essential.

• A theoretical or technical foundation in Cell Biology, Biochemistry, or NGS is necessary.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are required.

• Must be proactive and take initiative.

• Willingness to travel up to 75% of the time (approximately 3 weeks per month).
