Senior Estimator – Gas Power Generation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Minnesota.

📋 Description

• Oversee the procurement and estimating process by managing bidding procedures.

• Ensure accuracy in bids and adherence to technical standards.

• Assist in winning new project awards through effective negotiation, presentations, and showcasing the company’s unique advantages.

• Assess and calculate project safety requirements, including PPE, training, and JHA risk costs, to be included in bids.

• Seek, select, and engage subcontractors that fulfill risk management criteria.

• Guarantee compliance with company policies and procedures during the bidding process.

• Generate high-quality bids utilizing the company’s estimating software, alongside conducting bid reviews.

• Organize estimates for pre-bid meetings and throughout the bidding process.

• Develop initial project schedules while preparing estimates.

• Mentor and supervise subordinates through guidance, formal training, and varied work experiences.

• Perform project site visits to gather necessary information.

• Analyze cost and production reports to align actual costs and plans with estimates.

• Conduct specialized studies to create and standardize cost data.

⛳️ Requirements

• A four-year degree in construction or engineering, paired with five to seven years of experience as an Estimator, or an equivalent mix of technical training and related experience in mathematics, including algebra and geometry; emphasis on Gas Powered Generation is preferred.

• In-depth understanding of the construction market, estimating strategies, techniques, cost control, and proper scheduling of purchases and work.

• Capability to read and interpret engineering drawings, purchase orders, contracts, and cost coding systems.

• Proficient in identifying and factoring project safety requirements and JHA risks into bids.

• Ability to pursue, select, and engage subcontractors that meet risk management standards.

• Expertise in utilizing company estimating software and executing bid reviews.
