Senior Enterprise Architect – Military Engines

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of and develop enterprise strategy, target-state architectures, and 3–5 year modernization roadmaps across applications, data/analytics, integration/API, cloud/platform, and business architecture domains.

• Convert functional and business strategies into operational architecture plans for major enterprise platforms such as ERP, CRM, PLM, MES, Contract Lifecycle Management, and Customer Data Platform systems.

• Lead cross-functional transformation initiatives.

• Establish, enhance, and execute enterprise architecture methodologies, standards, and frameworks.

• Contribute to the governance of the Architecture Review Board regarding technology selection, API standards, cloud patterns, domain models, and architectural compliance.

• Design and advocate for API-first, event-driven, and cloud-native architectural patterns.

• Define secure, scalable, and high-throughput integration frameworks.

• Support the enterprise data architecture strategy via ontologies, semantic models, knowledge graphs, and standardized data structures.

• Mentor architects and help advance architecture maturity.

• Create and lead communities of practice.

• Advocate for product-centric and platform engineering operating models.

• Address complex enterprise-wide architecture challenges through investigation, root-cause analysis, and tradeoff evaluation.

• Provide briefings and advice to executive leadership on architecture decisions, investments, risks, standards, and transformation strategies.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or Information Systems with 10+ years of IT experience, including 7+ years as a senior solution architect or enterprise architect; OR an advanced degree with 7+ years as a senior solution architect or enterprise architect.

• U.S. citizenship is required.

• Proven experience in enterprise architecture thought leadership.

• Demonstrated ability to create long-term enterprise architecture roadmaps and lead extensive digital transformation programs.

• Knowledge of digital engineering, including MBSE, MBD, MBDMI, model-based services, and MRO.

• Experience in implementing global architecture processes, governance, and standards.

• Extensive expertise with modern architecture frameworks, cloud-native designs, and product-aligned delivery and operational models.

• Strong background in API governance, integration design patterns, and enterprise interoperability.

• Capability to lead the development of long-term strategies and roadmaps in a virtual environment.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

• Proven effectiveness in complex, service-intensive, deadline-driven environments.

• Ability to cultivate strong relationships across key groups.

• Strong leadership, organizational, relationship-building, and negotiation skills.

• Excellent formal and informal presentation skills.

• Knowledge and experience in working within Agile teams.

• Demonstrated expertise in API strategy and governance, API architectural patterns, API standards, and integration frameworks.
