This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
β’ Lead, mentor, and cultivate a dynamic distributed team of five to six systems and network professionals operating across various countries and time zones.
β’ Oversee performance management, career development planning, hiring, and onboarding processes for the team.
β’ Establish and uphold operating standards for documentation quality, ticket management, change management, and on-call responsiveness.
β’ Foster team cohesion in a predominantly remote workforce through intentional communication practices, clear ownership, and shared standards.
β’ Take responsibility for the availability, performance, and lifecycle management of data center IT infrastructure across the global portfolio, including servers, storage, virtualization, networking, and monitoring.
β’ Ensure the consistent implementation of backup and restore validation, patching, monitoring coverage, and access management across all locations.
β’ Lead major incident response efforts, coordinate responses, conduct root cause analysis, and ensure that remediation actions are completed effectively.
β’ Manage relationships with vendors and integrators that support site IT operations.
β’ Minimize alert noise and eliminate recurring incidents.
β’ Direct IT scope for new facility deployments and expansions, which includes planning, procurement, structured cabling coordination, and IDF/MMR setup.
β’ Coordinate IT delivery in accordance with construction and commissioning schedules while escalating any schedule risks.
β’ Manage the technical standards library, which encompasses SOPs, build standards, naming and addressing conventions, and site documentation.
β’ Collaborate with Corporate IT, Security & Compliance, Controls, and Operations teams.
β’ Oversee hardware refresh cycles, capacity planning, and provide input for IT capital and operating budgets.
β’ A minimum of seven years in systems administration, network administration, or infrastructure engineering, including at least two years in a leadership or management role with technical staff.
β’ Proven experience managing a distributed or remote team across various time zones.
β’ Working knowledge of Windows Server, Linux, virtualization, enterprise storage, and IP networking.
β’ Experience in incident management and root cause analysis for business-critical infrastructure.
β’ A solid history of establishing and maintaining operational standards and documentation in environments that previously lacked them.
β’ Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with non-technical stakeholders and executives.
β’ Willingness to travel to sites across North America and Europe as project schedules necessitate.
