Senior Enterprise Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with clients and executive stakeholders on strategic technology decisions that impact business outcomes, platform direction, and solution viability.

• Establish current-state, transition-state, and future-state enterprise architectures across digital, cloud, integration, and application ecosystems.

• Ensure the integrity of technical designs, architectural decisions, and delivery patterns.

• Offer architectural leadership to development teams.

• Lead estimation efforts for complex projects, documenting scope, assumptions, risks, dependencies, and timelines.

• Direct backlog definition and prioritization by translating architectural decisions into epics, features, user stories, and technical work items.

• Facilitate discussions with clients on scalability, resiliency, security, maintainability, performance, and operational readiness.

• Provide expertise in platforms, cloud architectures, integration patterns, design patterns, and enterprise solution practices.

• Mentor architects, technical leads, and senior developers.

• Build trusted relationships with clients, delivery teams, and internal leadership.

• Identify architectural risks, technical debt, delivery gaps, and escalation needs while recommending appropriate mitigations.

• Contribute to architecture governance, standards, reusable patterns, and delivery practices.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated experience as a Senior Enterprise Architect, Enterprise Architect, or a similar senior architecture leadership role.

• Extensive architectural experience across enterprise-scale digital, cloud, application, integration, and data ecosystems.

• High-level communication skills suitable for executive engagement.

• Skills in stakeholder management, facilitation, negotiation, and cross-functional collaboration.

• Leadership abilities to guide architects, technical leads, developers, and delivery teams.

• Strong analytical and technical skills for evaluating tradeoffs, identifying risks, and proposing solutions.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for architecture documentation and client-facing recommendations.

• Effective planning and organizational skills for managing multiple workstreams and dependencies.

• Capacity to work with distributed, outsourced, and in-house development teams.

• At least 10 years of enterprise-scale design and implementation experience in software development.

• In-depth knowledge in at least two areas: cloud computing, cloud-native architecture, application development, integration architecture, middleware, data architecture, or enterprise platforms.

• Established expertise in Azure or AWS; proficiency in both is highly advantageous.

• Familiarity with Microservices, Event-Driven Architecture, Domain-Driven Design, N-Tier Architecture, API-first design, and composable architecture.

• Competence in enterprise architecture, middleware, integration, data flow, cloud, and system context diagramming.

• Ability to audit, assess, and document existing architectures and ecosystems.

• Experience with API design patterns, API governance, authentication, authorization, versioning, and lifecycle management.

• Capability to define API specifications, preferably using OpenAPI/Swagger.

• Proficiency in SQL, Service Bus/Message Queue, Caching, ESB, ETL, observability, CI/CD, and infrastructure-as-code.

• Understanding of object-oriented principles, software design principles, scalability, resiliency, security, maintainability, and performance.

• Familiarity with AI tools, models, and software development workflows.

• Experience in a Senior Enterprise Architect role within a digital agency, consulting firm, or technology organization.
