
Senior Engineering Manager, Video Enablement

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Collaborate with the Director of Video Engineering, Product Management, and cross-functional teams to define and implement the video streaming roadmap.
• Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of essential video functionalities, including device integrations, mobile-first live streaming and capture, ingest, transcoding, storage, and playback.
• Analyze and enhance live and VOD streaming experiences by utilizing data and understanding user needs.
• Recruit, onboard, and nurture mobile, backend, and infrastructure engineers.
• Establish team culture, mentor senior and staff engineers, and cultivate future technical leaders.
• Provide direct technical leadership through code reviews, development activities, and solutions architecture.
• Collaborate with infrastructure teams to sustain a resilient, scalable, and cost-effective AWS video pipeline.
• Empower product and computer vision teams through effective interfaces, documentation, and collaboration.
• Engage in production incidents and offer support as necessary.
• Manage the daily operations of the Video Enablement team.
• Strong expertise in video and audio streaming.
• Practical experience with user-generated content and live-streaming technologies.
• Demonstrated success in delivering projects within the video streaming domain.
• Comprehensive understanding of software engineering principles and cloud architecture.
• Experience with resilient and scalable video infrastructure in AWS.
• Strategic mindset to contribute to the long-term engineering vision.
• Ability to act as a player-coach, establishing credibility while mentoring senior and staff engineers.
• Proficiency in coding with Go, Rust, or C# is advantageous.
• Familiarity with Node/TypeScript, React, Kotlin, or Swift is a plus.
• Comfortable with remote-first and asynchronous communication as a default.
• Must reside in the United States and be authorized to work in the United States.
