This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• Oversee direct reports while managing and coordinating the Protection and Control design team.
• Act as the technical reference for the team.
• Engage in and/or spearhead annual performance evaluations, communication strategies, training, and personal development plans.
• Assist lead engineers during the initial stages of project launches.
• Monitor the engineering process and ensure compliance.
• Manage the interfaces with partners and primary suppliers effectively.
• Facilitate the development of quality procedures and processes.
• Organize the capitalization of knowledge, lessons learned, and experiences to enhance engineering efficiency.
• Supervise a small to medium-sized team of P&C engineers and designers.
• Influence the strategic direction of the area of responsibility, including resource management.
• Ensure adherence to Company BMS procedures, Engineering Management Handbook, industry standards, safety codes, regulatory requirements, and construction codes.
• Drive process improvements through team feedback and enhance team engagement.
• Define and track personal development actions for team members.
• Oversee the creation of high-quality design templates and tools for the secondary design engineering team and the business.
• Potentially manage small to medium-sized projects with limited risks and complexities.
• Assist the Engineering Manager with operational, technological, and engineering decisions, as well as complex tasks.
• Evaluate information quality, ask relevant stakeholder questions, and propose solutions.
• Suggest best practices to enhance products, processes, or services based on business challenges and industry trends.
• Convey complex concepts effectively and influence perspectives.
• Advocate for and promote the use of GEC Noida teams.
• Master's degree from an accredited institution, or a high school diploma/GED accompanied by a minimum of 6 years of Engineering experience.
• Must be a Member of a Standards Committee such as IEEE or demonstrate a willingness to join one.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Strong interpersonal and leadership capabilities.
• Proven track record in analyzing and resolving issues.
• Demonstrated experience in leading programs/projects.
• Established skills in project engineering and management.
• Ownership and accountability, sound judgment and decision-making, enthusiasm for the functional role, and a commitment to knowledge sharing.
• Ability to perform well under pressure and adapt to change and complexity in dynamic settings.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States.
