Senior Engineering Manager – Loyalty Product

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Oversee the architectural design and technical strategy for designated Loyalty product areas.

• Convert product strategies into actionable engineering roadmaps and fulfill roadmap commitments.

• Lead the technical design for services, APIs, schemas, and background tasks.

• Evaluate designs for compliance with platform architecture and engineering standards.

• Identify risks related to scalability, reliability, security, and maintainability.

• Build and nurture a high-performing engineering team while developing engineers and technical leaders.

• Establish ownership, accountability, engineering best practices, operational excellence, and a culture of continuous improvement.

• Coordinate projects that involve multiple engineering teams and address technical dependencies.

• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Architecture, SRE, DevOps, Security, and FinOps teams.

• Ensure objectives related to availability, latency, scalability, recovery, observability, monitoring, capacity planning, and operational readiness are met.

• Enhance tenant isolation, workload fairness, platform resilience, operational efficiency, reliability, and cloud cost management.

• Deliver a customizable, integrated Loyalty product that supports programs, rewards, tiering, points tracking, messaging, omnichannel support, identity, and analytics.


⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive experience in building and managing large-scale distributed platforms or multi-tenant SaaS solutions.

• Proven experience leading engineering teams focused on full-stack application development.

• Strong technical background in distributed systems, APIs, cloud-native architectures, and shared platform services.

• Experience in designing and maintaining highly available production services.

• Experience collaborating with various engineering teams to deliver shared functionalities.

• Solid operational knowledge of observability, incident management, and production readiness.

• Proven capability to mentor engineers and cultivate technical leaders.

• Exceptional communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities.

• Preferred: experience in building marketing technology, customer-data analytics, or large-scale SaaS platforms.

• Preferred: experience with agentic applications, AWS, Kubernetes, Kafka, Snowflake, Iceberg, PostgreSQL, Redis, Node.js, React.js, or similar technologies.

• Preferred: experience in cloud cost optimization and FinOps practices.
