This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +2 more states.
• Develop and implement a strategic roadmap for Omada's Data Engineering platform.
• Oversee the delivery of scalable, reliable, and governed data products that facilitate analytics, reporting, experimentation, and AI-driven insights.
• Provide trusted, reusable production datasets that empower Applied Data Science, Product, Clinical, Commercial, Finance, Operations, and Executive analytics.
• Lead, nurture, and expand a high-performing Data Engineering organization through recruitment, coaching, mentoring, and career growth.
• Cultivate a culture of technical excellence, collaboration, accountability, and ongoing learning.
• Enable teams to deliver impactful solutions while prioritizing quality and operational excellence.
• Collaborate with Product, Analytics, Data Science, Architecture, Governance, and Engineering leaders to establish priorities and expedite data-driven decision-making across Omada.
• Convert business requirements into scalable platform capabilities and reliable data products.
• Build strong relationships throughout the organization to promote alignment, transparency, and effective execution.
• Establish engineering excellence by enhancing data quality, reliability, observability, security, and platform performance.
• Define and track engineering and operational metrics to continually improve platform health, cost efficiency, and developer productivity.
• Guide the adoption of enhanced reliability, quality, governance, and usability of enterprise data products.
• Provide technical leadership for architecture, platform evolution, scalable technologies, reusable frameworks, and engineering standards across Data Engineering.
• Enhance self-service analytics through dependable and reusable data capabilities.
• Influence long-term technology strategies while collaborating with engineering leaders across Omada to develop a world-class data platform.
• Over 10 years of experience in building and operating large-scale data platforms, analytics systems, or software platforms.
• More than 5 years of experience leading Data Engineering teams, with a preference for candidates who have managed managers or multiple teams.
• Proven track record in building, mentoring, and scaling high-performing engineering organizations.
• Demonstrated success in defining technical strategy, driving execution, and delivering complex cross-functional initiatives.
• Strong experience in collaborating with Product, Analytics, Data Science, and executive stakeholders.
• Extensive experience in designing and operating modern cloud-based analytics platforms, including data warehouses, lakehouses, ELT/ETL pipelines, and data processing systems.
• Strong understanding of data modeling, analytics architecture, semantic layers, and the design of scalable data products.
• Experience with implementing data quality, observability, governance, metadata, lineage, and access control capabilities.
• Experience in modernizing enterprise data platforms and fostering the adoption of contemporary data engineering practices.
• Familiarity with AI and machine learning data workflows is an advantage.
