Senior Engineering Manager, Cloud

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Lead and oversee a team of engineers focused on Redpanda Cloud, including efforts related to the Agentic Data Plane.

• Take ownership of the complete delivery process for your team's roadmap: from scoping and prioritization to execution and timely, high-quality launches.

• Uphold a high standard of operational excellence, encompassing incident response, on-call health, service level objectives (SLOs), and day-2 operations.

• Provide ongoing career development, coaching, and performance feedback to help engineers advance their skills.

• Recruit, onboard, and retain top-notch engineers; engage actively in interview processes and calibration sessions.

• Collaborate with Product Management to define the team's roadmap and convert product priorities into actionable engineering plans.

• Identify risks, dependencies, and trade-offs early in the process.

• Utilize data-driven insights to determine what strategies are effective and where to allocate resources.

• Work alongside the Customer Success and Solutions Engineering teams to resolve customer issues and prioritize the roadmap effectively.

⛳️ Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in software engineering, specifically in developing and managing enterprise-grade SaaS platforms.

• 3+ years of experience leading highly technical engineering teams, demonstrating a consistent track record of successful delivery.

• Proficiency in cloud infrastructure and operations, with hands-on experience in public cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure), Kubernetes, and distributed systems.

• Familiarity with agentic AI processes and AI-assisted software development lifecycles.

• Proven ability to translate product priorities into actionable team plans and deliver consistently against them.

• Enthusiasm for thriving in a rapidly growing, dynamic environment, with comfort in remote collaboration within a distributed team.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with demonstrated technical leadership capabilities.

• A strong sense of empathy for both customers and colleagues, and a commitment to fostering high-trust teams.

• Nice to have: Proficiency in Golang or recent hands-on technical experience.

• Nice to have: Expertise in Linux systems used for operating production-grade services.

• Nice to have: Hands-on experience with data streaming platforms, AI/ML infrastructure, databases, or large-scale distributed storage systems.

• Nice to have: Experience in enabling teams to adopt AI code generation tools in ways that significantly enhance velocity while maintaining quality.

🏝️ Benefits

• The U.S. base salary range for this position is $240,000 - $285,000 (CA, NY, WA) and $230,000 - $270,000 (other U.S. locations).
