This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Lead a high-achieving team of engineers, encompassing employees, internal contractors, and external contractors, to deliver features and enhancements to core services and systems.
• Emphasize people management, team development, and strategic execution instead of hands-on coding.
• Propel project execution in alignment with semi-annual and annual objectives while effectively managing ambiguity and organizational changes.
• Cultivate a culture of ownership, excellence, psychological safety, growth, and high performance.
• Establish team priorities, goals, and key performance metrics; ensure accountability while fostering a healthy team dynamic.
• Collaborate across engineering teams and engage with product, design, and customer stakeholders.
• Build and nurture diverse, high-performing teams through hiring, coaching, and providing growth opportunities.
• Balance business operations, foundational work, and new initiatives to ensure sustainable execution.
• Identify and mitigate technical risks, system bottlenecks, and process inefficiencies.

• Advocate for architectural quality, operational excellence, and alignment with technical strategy.
• Over 10 years of relevant experience.
• Must be a US Citizen.
• Capable of obtaining and maintaining Public Trust 6C.
• Proven history of leading high-performing engineering teams to achieve significant business and customer impact.
• Experience managing mixed workforce models, including full-time employees, internal contractors, and external contractors.
• Strong focus on people management, with a background in coaching, development, and team enablement rather than solely individual contribution.
• Experience overseeing the complete software development lifecycle, prioritizing results, quality, and team health.
• Demonstrated ability to navigate complexity and ambiguity while keeping the team focused and motivated.
• History of building, hiring, and developing diverse engineering teams across various skill levels.
• Experience in establishing technical direction and making architectural trade-offs.
• Strong skills in people management, including coaching, performance management, and conflict resolution.
• Ability to provide quality technical feedback on designs and architectural decisions without direct hands-on involvement.
• Understanding of distributed systems, microservices, and contemporary engineering practices.
• Experience in creating efficient processes and operational rhythms.
• Proficient in balancing technical excellence with practical delivery of business value.
• Comfortable reviewing system health, engineering quality, and alignment with technical strategy.
• Proven inclination to take ownership of issues and drive them toward resolution.
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, customizing messages for different audiences and stakeholders.
• Experience in building strong cross-functional relationships and facilitating constructive conflict.
• History of advocating for the team while optimizing for broader organizational results.
