Engineering Manager, AgentControl

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead and cultivate a team of engineers, offering coaching, constructive feedback, and opportunities for career advancement.

• Collaborate with Product Management and Design to define, estimate, and prioritize roadmap items, making real-time scope trade-offs.

• Take ownership of the team's feature delivery, ensuring that projects are completed within deadlines and meet quality standards.

• Work alongside adjacent teams (AI Agents, Observability, Feature Management) on shared infrastructure decisions and address cross-team dependencies.

• Clearly communicate roadmaps, risks, and progress updates to engineering leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.

• Establish team working norms that foster collaboration, minimize silos, and keep engineers actively engaged.

• Promote operational excellence by enhancing reliability, observability, and incident response for production infrastructure.

• Engage in the hiring process to expand the team and elevate the engineering standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in software engineering, including at least 2 years in a managerial role overseeing backend or infrastructure engineers.

• Demonstrated capability to collaborate with Product Management to convert business objectives into engineering strategies with accurate estimations.

• Exceptional communication skills, particularly in distributed team settings with collaboration across different time zones.

• Proven history of coaching and nurturing engineers, encompassing performance management, career development planning, and technical mentorship.

• Understanding of observability practices (metrics, tracing, alerting, structured logging) and comfort with responding to production incidents.

• Familiarity with major AI providers (Anthropic, OpenAI, Bedrock, Gemini) and well-known AI tools (Langchain, Arize).

• Experience with Go and Python or similar backend languages (Java, Rust, Ruby) is advantageous.
