Senior Engineering Manager

📋 Description

• Guide and mentor a team of engineers by conducting regular one-on-one meetings, offering career guidance, and promoting a culture of technical excellence.

• Take ownership of the technical roadmap, making pivotal decisions regarding state management, component libraries, and build tools to facilitate Archy’s expansion.

• Manage the end-to-end delivery of significant cross-functional product updates, ensuring a smooth and bug-free experience for our dental practices by overseeing the production lifecycle of your domains.

• Incorporate AI tools (such as Claude) into your daily development activities to enhance efficiency. You should excel in using AI to augment your work while maintaining the role of "architect," ensuring total ownership of the code's logic, security, and architectural implications, while leveraging AI for repetitive tasks to concentrate on complex system logic, performance optimization, and user experience.

• Contribute significantly to the development and enhancement of the AI-powered interfaces utilized by our customers, ensuring that our new product updates are both intuitive and high-performing.

• Design and supervise the integration between our Java Spring Boot backend and React/TypeScript frontend, ensuring optimal performance and system reliability.

• Conduct and participate in code reviews, ensuring that the team continually improves while upholding high standards for clean, maintainable code.

• Identify areas for enhancing team efficiency, implement best practices, and streamline development workflows.

• Oversee project timelines, estimate development efforts, and guarantee that the team delivers high-quality results on time across all product milestones.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.

• Over 10 years of experience in software engineering, with a minimum of 2 years in a leadership or management position.

• Strong technical expertise across our technology stack (React/TypeScript and Java Spring Boot), with the capability to provide in-depth architectural oversight and code-level contributions in both areas.

• Experience in the dental or healthcare sector is highly desirable.

• A proven history of managing product releases and overseeing overall system health in a live production environment.

• Deep technical expertise that aligns with Staff-level expectations, along with a desire to remain hands-on within the codebase.

• Ability to clearly articulate when and how to utilize AI to enhance velocity without sacrificing the long-term maintainability of the overall codebase.

• A strong emphasis on testing, stability, and performance to ensure our platform remains robust for our users.

• A customer-centric approach, recognizing that dental practices depend on us to keep their operations running smoothly.

• Excellent leadership and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to mentor engineers and collaborate cross-functionally with all teams.
