Senior Engineering Manager – API Platform

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Lead a team of front-end and backend engineers in the development of an API platform for CVS Health engineers.

• Provide technical guidance, leadership, clarity, and vision to the team.

• Collaborate with leaders across engineering, business, and product to formulate a strategy and roadmap.

• Establish OKRs with your team and monitor their health through KPIs.

• Actively engage in the design and architectural processes for new capabilities across teams.

• Recruit and retain highly skilled, technically proficient engineers.

• Stay informed about new and emerging technologies that enhance performance, delivery, and the developer experience.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of leadership experience, with direct management of individual contributors.

• More than 7 years of experience in building enterprise-grade applications at scale.

• At least 5 years of experience with JavaScript.

• A minimum of 3 years of experience with TypeScript and modern Node.js backend development.

• Experience with API gateway technologies such as Kong, Apigee, or Azure API Management.

• Familiarity with distributed workflows, asynchronous orchestration, or job-processing systems like Temporal or similar platforms.

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (High school diploma plus 4 years of relevant work experience).
