This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee and enhance two engineering teams. Provide direct management for approximately 7 engineers within AI Enablement and EHR Agents (including a mix of Staff Tech Lead, Senior FDEs, and Senior+ engineers on EHR Agents); focus on coaching, career growth, performance management, and recruitment.
• Take ownership of two charters. Guide the AI Enablement team in executing the AI Unlock program (marketplace, installer, gateway, education); oversee the EHR Agents team in realizing the Athena lab-ordering and G-code billing roadmap; collaborate with platform and product leaders to fulfill cross-team commitments.
• Facilitate cross-team delivery, manage dependencies, and conduct go/no-go calls; establish the operational rhythm (sprint planning, retrospectives, status updates); serve as the accountable owner.
• Conduct hiring and onboarding. Secure 4 new AI Enablement hires (FDEs) and fill any vacancies within EHR Agents; orchestrate interview processes; create an onboarding program that enables new engineers to swiftly become productive in agentic-coding workflows.
• Act as a representative for the teams at higher levels. Communicate progress, risks, and requests to the AI Platform & Innovation leadership team and the wider Tech VP+ forum; collaborate with security, foundations, and AI Platform counterparts on shared infrastructure.
• Bachelor’s or higher degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Over 7 years of total engineering experience, including at least 3 years in a direct management role.
• Proven experience managing teams of 5 or more engineers through the delivery of complex software projects on production systems.
• Strong technical background — capable of engaging deeply in architecture, code reviews, and trade-off discussions, even if not involved in day-to-day hands-on work.
• A history of hiring, mentoring, and developing engineers across various levels (from junior to senior).
• Experience leading delivery in regulated environments (such as healthcare, finance, or similar), or a readiness to quickly familiarize yourself with HIPAA regulations.
• Sitting for extended periods.
• Significant use of computers and keyboard.
• Occasional walking and lifting may be necessary.
