This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Accountable for engineering activities related to Mechanical Nuclear Island Support Systems (MNISS) that bolster the BWRX-300 Small Modular Reactor (SMR) design.
• Focused on the Process Radiation and Environmental Monitoring System (D11).
• Responsible for creating and sustaining the System Design Description, Process Flow Calculations/Diagrams, Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), and other engineering deliverables tied to the system.
• Develop specifications and component data sheets for fluid system in-line components.
• Collaborate with adjacent teams, disciplines, project management, and contractors to guarantee high-quality, timely deliverables in support of BWRX-300 engineering milestones.
• Provide assistance to the Licensing organization for regulatory-related deliverables.
• Conduct analysis and design work that supports requirements specifications.
• Enhance project execution and departmental management using Six Sigma methodologies.
• Contribute to development initiatives for both new products and innovative technologies.
• Ensure corrective and preventive actions are taken based on Quality non-compliance monitoring and audit programs.
• Champion continuous improvement strategies, such as Lean Action Work Outs (LAWO).
• Engage in BWRX-300 technologies.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Nuclear Engineering.
• At least 8 years of experience in an engineering position.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in developing design documents.
• Prior SRO License required.
• Strong leadership qualities.
• Familiarity with working in a regulated environment (nuclear).
• Experience with quality standards and systems (e.g., NQA-1, ISO 9000).
• Excellent oral and written communication abilities.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Proven capability to analyze and resolve issues.
• Demonstrated experience in leading programs and projects.
• Customer-oriented mindset.
• Ability to meet tight deadlines and perform well under pressure.
• Six Sigma training is preferred.
