• Serve as the primary technical liaison for Service Delivery, Sales Engineering, Project Management, and In-Country Datacentre teams regarding matters related to Hosting service design, implementation, testing, and delivery of customer solutions.
• Oversee the complete deployment and management of public cloud infrastructure utilizing AWS and Azure.
• Develop and enforce enterprise-level standards for automation within public cloud infrastructure.
• Spearhead large-scale maintenance initiatives that guarantee zero downtime.
• Identify recurrent operational challenges, automate their resolution, and construct self-healing infrastructure solutions.
• Capable of leading Public Cloud account takeover and standardization in alignment with well-architected frameworks and internal best practices.
• Adjust monitoring criteria to minimize alert fatigue, ensuring the operations team responds only to actionable, high-signal data.
• Deploy, maintain, and manage hybrid cloud solutions or dedicated on-premises solutions across any of the 50+ GTT Points of Presence worldwide.
• Provide advanced engineering support and complex troubleshooting for customer solutions and shared GTT platforms.
• Collaborate with other engineering teams in the deployment and development of new customer and GTT platforms.
• Proactively escalate, follow up, and liaise with relevant departments to resolve technical issues that may affect delivery timelines or quality.
• Formulate contingency plans to mitigate risks.
• Produce quality documentation that reflects changes made to solutions.
• Ensure technical governance and adherence to best practices in operations.
• Present proposed solutions, technical designs, and service enhancements to internal teams and management.
• Lead root cause analysis for major incidents, identifying systemic issues and implementing preventative measures.
• Collaborate with the Problem Management team to ensure that known errors are well-documented and that corrective actions are monitored.
• Mentor and actively cultivate engineering talent.
• Establish and uphold standards for technical documentation.
• Present and advocate for strategic technical proposals, architectural modifications, and service enhancement initiatives.
• Minimum of 6 years of demonstrable experience in deploying, configuring, and managing virtual and/or cloud infrastructures.
• Proven history of architecting, managing, and scaling multi-cloud or hybrid environments.
• Demonstrated experience in leading large-scale migrations from data centers to public cloud.
• Expert-level proficiency in managing highly available, multi-region architectures with complex disaster recovery and active-active failover systems.
• Active AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate (SAA-C03) certification.
• Strong understanding of Hosting Solution components (e.g., Firewalls, Server Hardware, etc.).
• Technical knowledge of additional technologies (e.g., IP, MPLS, VoIP).
• Comprehensive understanding of large, complex Hosting solutions.
• Familiarity with the ITIL framework.
• General knowledge of the telecom and Hosting industry along with relevant standards.
• Excellent proficiency in the English language is essential.
• Standard business hours.
• Rotational on-call shifts to provide 24/7 support coverage.
• No travel required.
