
Senior Engineer, Service Engineering & Automation – Public Cloud

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Europe.
• Oversee the complete deployment and management of public cloud infrastructure on AWS and Azure.
• Set and uphold enterprise-level standards for automating public cloud infrastructure.
• Direct significant, zero-downtime maintenance projects.
• Recognize recurring operational challenges, automate solutions, and develop self-healing infrastructure mechanisms.
• Capable of leading Public Cloud account standardization and takeovers in line with well-architected frameworks and internal best practices.
• Optimize monitoring requirements to alleviate alert fatigue, ensuring the operations team addresses only actionable, high-signal data.
• Deployment, upkeep, and management of hybrid cloud solutions or dedicated on-premises solutions in any of the 50+ GTT Points of Presence worldwide.
• Provide advanced engineering support and perform complex troubleshooting for Customer solutions and Shared GTT platforms.
• Collaborate with other engineering teams in deploying and developing new customer and GTT platforms.
• Proactively escalate issues and coordinate with relevant departments to resolve technical problems that may affect delivery timelines or quality.
• Develop contingency plans to mitigate such risks.
• Produce quality documentation to reflect modifications to solutions.
• Ensure technical governance and adherence to best practices in operations.
• Present proposed solutions, technical designs, and service enhancements to internal teams and management.
• Lead root cause analysis for major incidents, identifying systemic issues and implementing preventive measures.
• Collaborate with the Problem Management team to ensure known errors are documented and corrective actions are tracked.
• Mentor and actively cultivate engineering talent.
• Establish and govern standards for technical documentation.
• Present and advocate for strategic technical proposals, architectural changes, and service enhancement initiatives.
• Minimum of 6 years of demonstrated experience in deploying, configuring, and managing virtual and/or cloud infrastructures.
• Proven history of architecting, managing, and scaling multi-cloud or hybrid environments.
• Demonstrated experience in leading large-scale migrations from data centers to public cloud.
• Expert-level capability in managing highly available, multi-region architectures with complex disaster recovery and active-active failover mechanisms.
• Current AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate (SAA-C03) certification.
• Strong understanding of Hosting Solution components (Firewalls, Server Hardware, etc.).
• Technical knowledge of related technologies (e.g., IP, MPLS, VoIP).
• Extensive knowledge of large complex Hosting solutions.
• Familiarity with the ITIL framework.
• General understanding of the telecom and Hosting industry and its standards.
• Proficient English language skills are essential.
