• Serve as the primary technical liaison for Service Delivery, Sales Engineering, Project Management, and In-Country Datacentre teams concerning issues related to Hosting service design, implementation, testing, and delivery of customer solutions.
• Identify operational tasks that are manual and high-toil, suitable for automation, and oversee the complete design, implementation, and lifecycle management of these automated solutions.
• Initiate efforts to replace manual deployment procedures with fully automated, zero-touch workflows, significantly enhancing delivery times and minimizing human error.
• Offer advanced engineering support and perform root cause analyses for issues related to automation platforms and infrastructure consistency.
• Manage the deployment, maintenance, and administration of hybrid cloud solutions or dedicated on-premises solutions across any of the 50+ GTT Points of Presence (PoPs) worldwide.
• Provide advanced engineering support and intricate troubleshooting for customer solutions and Shared GTT platforms.
• Collaborate with other engineering teams in the deployment and development of new customer and GTT platforms.
• Proactively escalate, follow through, and coordinate with relevant departments to address technical issues that could affect delivery timelines or quality.
• Develop contingency plans to mitigate such risks.
• Create high-quality documentation to reflect changes in solutions.
• Ensure technical governance and adherence to operational best practices.
• Present proposed solutions, technical designs, and service enhancements to internal teams and management.
• Lead root cause analysis for major incidents and automation failures, identifying systemic issues while implementing preventive measures.
• Work alongside the Problem Management team to ensure known errors are well-documented, with corrective actions tracked effectively.
• Mentor and actively nurture senior engineering talent.
• Establish and govern standards for technical documentation.
• Present and advocate for strategic technical proposals, architectural modifications, and service enhancement initiatives.
• A minimum of 6 years of demonstrated experience in deploying, configuring, and managing virtual and/or cloud infrastructures.
• Proficient-level expertise in infrastructure automation scripting and programming.
• Practical experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible, SaltStack, Puppet, or Chef.
• Hands-on experience with version control systems, branching strategies, and CI/CD pipeline architecture.
• In-depth understanding of Linux operating systems and system administration.
• Previous experience with cloud management tools like CloudStack, OpenStack, or similar technologies.
• Strong awareness of Hosting Solution components including Firewalls, Server Hardware, etc.
• Technical comprehension of other technologies such as IP, MPLS, and VoIP.
• Extensive knowledge of large, complex Hosting solutions.
• Familiarity with the ITIL framework.
• General understanding of the telecom and Hosting industry standards.
• Excellent proficiency in the English language is essential.
