Senior Engineer – SAP Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Nebraska.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, test, and deploy intricate ABAP applications, enhancements, and interfaces within the S/4HANA environment.

• Provide technical guidance and leadership.

• Collaborate with technical and business teams to formulate technical solutions that address business challenges.

• Ensure that development activities align with industry best practices and company standards.

• Engage in SAP S/4 HANA projects.

• Create custom SAP ABAP solutions, encompassing dialogue programming, SAP Forms/SAP Script, ALV reporting, function modules, RFCs, Web Services (API), and RICEFW developments.

• Design and maintain CDS views and AMDPs.

• Develop interfaces, BAPIs, object-oriented ABAP, User exits, Business Add-Ins, Enhancement exits, and Module Pool applications.

• Diagnose Integration Suite integration issues with backend SAP systems.

• Conduct performance tuning for technical objects, interface and alert tuning, and system monitoring, including debugging and analysis.

• Configure synchronous and asynchronous AIF interfaces.

• Generate technical design documentation.

• Develop, document, and implement test plans.

• Assist with SAP upgrade projects through SPDD, SPAU, and SPAU_ENHANCE.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of practical experience as an SAP ABAP Developer.

• Significant experience in contributing to at least one SAP S/4 HANA project.

• Proficiency in SAP custom ABAP development, including dialogue programming, SAP Forms/SAP Script, ALV reporting, function modules, RFCs, Web Services (API), and RICEFW developments.

• Experience in creating and managing CDS views and AMDPs.

• Programming experience in interface development, BAPIs, object-oriented ABAP, User exits, Business Add-Ins, Enhancement exits, and Module Pool applications.

• Expertise in troubleshooting Integration Suite integration with backend SAP systems, as well as technical object performance tuning and interface and alert tuning.

• Familiarity with configuring synchronous and asynchronous AIF interfaces.

• Capability to produce comprehensive technical design documentation that meets functional requirements.

• Skill in developing ABAP code adhering to Protective Life standards.

• Experience in developing, documenting, and executing test plans.

• Extensive background in debugging, performance tuning, analysis, and system monitoring.

• Involvement in SAP upgrade projects related to SPDD, SPAU, and SPAU_ENHANCE.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Capacity to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• General understanding of accounting principles in relation to ERP software.

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.

• Familiarity with SQL Server, including SSIS and SSRS, is desired.

• Experience with Control-M scheduling is desired.

• Familiarity with Agile methodology is desired.

• Experience in Fiori and Gateway development is desired.

• Knowledge of SAP Workflow and troubleshooting is desired.

• Experience with BTP, particularly Integration Suite, BPA, and Build Code is desired.

• Familiarity with BRF+ is desired.

• Experience with vals/subs (GGB1, GGB0) is desired.
