
Senior Engineer, Process – Purified Water Systems

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee and govern the technical aspects of purified water systems across various manufacturing sites to guarantee reliability, compliance, and operational excellence.
• Establish, monitor, and assess performance KPIs, trends, and reporting metrics to facilitate data-driven decision-making and continuous enhancement.
• Act as the subject matter expert in the design, operation, troubleshooting, validation, maintenance, and optimization of purified water systems, including RO, EDI, UV, ozone, storage, and distribution systems.
• Lead investigations into root causes, CAPAs, risk assessments, and corrective actions concerning water system performance, quality incidents, and compliance issues.
• Collaborate with site teams to harmonize operating procedures, maintenance practices, monitoring programs, and reporting standards throughout the network.
• Assist in capital projects, system upgrades, expansions, and new installations by offering technical guidance and conducting design reviews.
• Work alongside Quality, Validation, Operations, Engineering, and EHS teams to ensure regulatory compliance and support site objectives.
• Create and present training programs, technical guidance, and best practice documentation to enhance organizational capability and ownership.
• Assess emerging technologies, industry trends, and regulatory updates to improve system performance and compliance strategies.
• Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, and proactive problem-solving across manufacturing sites.
• Support change control processes and ensure effective communication and implementation of system changes.
• Engage in internal and external audits as the subject matter expert for purified water systems.
• Assist with regulatory inspections and customer audits as necessary.
• Contribute to enterprise engineering initiatives and strategic improvement projects.
• Provide occasional off-hours support during significant system disruptions or implementation activities.
• Capability to visit manufacturing environments and utility areas.
• Ability to inspect equipment, climb stairs, and access elevated platforms as needed.
• Regular use of computers and standard office equipment.
• Proficient in effective communication with employees, vendors, auditors, and regulatory agencies.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related technical field. (Required)
• 4-6 years of experience in supporting purified water systems, high-purity water systems, or utility systems within a regulated manufacturing setting. (Required)
• 1-3 years of experience in supporting multiple sites or working in a corporate engineering role. (Required)
• 1-3 years of knowledge in the design, operation, validation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of purified water systems. (Required)
• 1-3 years of experience with clean design principles and validation practices. (Required)
• 1-3 years of familiarity with water system microbiology and contamination control principles. (Required)
• 1-3 years of experience in developing KPIs, analyzing operational data, and driving performance enhancements. (Required)
• 1-3 years of demonstrated success in leading cross-functional projects and influencing stakeholders without direct authority. (Required)
• 1-3 years of experience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, personal care, cosmetics, food & beverage, or other regulated manufacturing sectors. (Preferred)
• 1-3 years of experience in implementing standardized engineering practices across multiple facilities. (Preferred)
• 1-3 years of experience in supporting capital projects and major system implementations. (Preferred)
