This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Cultivate robust relationships with partners across Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, and Business teams.
• Deliver remote and on-site technical troubleshooting and urgent support for utility assets and processes.
• Guide operations and maintenance personnel to ensure they meet the minimum qualifications necessary for asset operation and maintenance.
• Assist with facility outages, focusing on high-value or high-risk projects to guarantee successful outcomes.
• Conduct benchmarking and gap analysis to enhance asset reliability and performance.
• Recognize both non-capital and capital improvement prospects and collaborate with site and external engineering teams to design, implement, and commission projects.
• Formulate multi-year asset strategies and implementation plans for the assets under your responsibility.
• Establish and sustain a network of OEMs, vendors, contractors, and consultants for the assets you oversee.
• Aid in the creation and execution of Design, Operate, and Maintain (DOM) standards for relevant systems and assets.
• Partner with remote monitoring teams to devise and refine monitoring strategies for the assets in your charge.
• Adhere to Environmental, Health, and Safety regulations in all activities, aiming for zero incidents.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology is preferred, particularly in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Pulp and Paper Science.
• Candidates with 10 or more years of operations leadership experience may be considered in lieu of an engineering degree.
• At least 10 years of experience in operations, engineering, or OEM within the pulp & paper industry.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in a leadership role in operations.
• Understanding of both theoretical and practical elements related to the design, construction, operation, and maintenance of the assets within the scope of responsibility.
• Proven track record in process improvement and optimization.
• Familiarity with ASME, BLRBAC, NFPA, and similar codes/standards.
