Senior Engineer, Data

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Make significant contributions to the success of one or multiple projects or products.

• Exhibit expertise and specialized skills in essential technologies pertinent to team objectives.

• Define, estimate, design, and implement medium-to-large features.

• Actively work to minimize technical debt across various projects or products.

• Collaborate and provide support to team members.

• Adhere to established team procedures for consistent feature delivery to production.

• Engage with teammates, external teams, and client stakeholders throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

• Create test plans, test cases, and documentation in accordance with software specifications and user requirements.

• Record, prioritize, and monitor defects using bug-tracking tools.

• Facilitate inter-team communication for effective issue resolution.

• Set and uphold quality standards and best practices.

• Monitor software quality metrics throughout the SDLC.

• Automate testing to enhance coverage, speed, and precision for Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.

• Assess and recommend Quality Assurance (QA) tools, frameworks, and techniques.

• Ensure testing adheres to industry standards and regulatory requirements.

• Prepare documentation for audit purposes.

• Execute performance and security testing.

⛳️ Requirements

• US Citizenship or Green Card required - sponsorship is not available.

• US Residency for a minimum of the past 3 years.

• Must meet the criteria to hold a Public Trust position, including successful completion of a US Government background investigation.

• Proficient in advanced SQL, encompassing window functions, Common Table Expressions (CTEs), and query-plan analysis.

• Experience in optimizing queries for large datasets.

• Knowledge of PostgreSQL schema design, indexing strategies, and live system migrations.

• Ownership of pipelines using GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar tools.

• Proficiency in Python.

• Experience in validating and reconciling data from non-authoritative sources.

• Capability to design for unreliable, changing, and delayed third-party data feeds.

• Use of medical or recreational marijuana may impact the ability to secure Public Trust.

• Nice to have: experience with event-driven ingestion on AWS, including Lambda, S3 events, EventBridge, and Step Functions.

• Nice to have: familiarity with pharmacy, drug pricing, formulary, or payer data; experience with NCPDP, First Databank, Medi-Span, or HPMS.

• Nice to have: experience with Airflow, Dagster, dbt, or Step Functions.

• Nice to have: proficiency in Terraform, CloudFormation, or CDK.

• Nice to have: experience in a FedRAMP or ATO-governed environment.

• Nice to have: knowledge of Great Expectations, Soda, or similar data quality frameworks.

• Nice to have: experience with applied AI/ML, particularly in anomaly detection on data feeds.
