This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Develop and sustain scalable data infrastructure, platforms, and tools for the OverWatch team.
• Partner with members of the OverWatch engineering team to design, create, and maintain operational systems, projects, and tools.
• Construct new components and enhance the existing system.
• Optimize the platform and tools to enhance the OverWatch team's efficiency in analysis and hunting.
• Transition research projects into production settings and integrate them with OWL systems.
• Operate in a DevOps environment with responsibility for deployed systems, including participation in an on-call rotation.
• Assume ownership and responsibility for deliverables.
• Uphold high standards of quality through suitable tools and processes.
• Engage with and contribute to the open-source community.
• Assist in building a platform capable of handling millions of events per second and processing terabytes of data daily.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• Proficiency in Golang or another programming language for web backends and pipelines, such as Python or Ruby, or compiled languages like Rust or C++.
• Experience in creating web services with data processing pipelines and associated concepts.
• Familiarity with relational and NoSQL databases; knowledge of Redis, Postgres, Cassandra, and Elasticsearch is relevant.
• Understanding of messaging or queuing software; Kafka experience is beneficial but not mandatory.
• Linux skills and experience in large-scale, business-critical Linux environments.
• Comprehension of distributed systems and scalability challenges, especially in cloud settings like AWS.
• Ability to excel in a fast-paced, test-driven, collaborative, and iterative programming environment.
• In-depth knowledge of engineering best practices, including testing paradigms, peer code reviews, and resilient architecture.
• Demonstrated experience leveraging AI technologies to enhance decision-making, streamline workflows and processes, boost efficiency, and drive business results.
• Capacity to take ownership and accountability for deliverables.
• Ability to collaborate as part of a distributed remote team across various time zones.
• Participation in on-call rotation.
