This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Assess and identify methods to enhance efficient energy usage throughout the organization.

• Provide guidance to the company on energy-related issues while reviewing cost estimates, specifications, architectural drawings, construction documents, building control systems, and maintenance repairs or modifications.

• Oversee the Energy Management Systems for corporate facilities and stores.

• Assist the energy team with capital projects exceeding $20 million and manage a utility expense budget over $100 million.

• Analyze and assess mechanical, HVAC, and controls drawings for new stores, downsizing, relocations, and capital initiatives.

• Collaborate with Construction, Store Design teams, Architects, and Engineers of Record throughout the design phase.

• Offer engineering insights to enhance building performance, maintainability, lifecycle costs, and energy efficiency.

• Monitor, prioritize, and resolve HVAC and controls-related issues across the store portfolio utilizing EMS/BAS platforms and analytical software.

• Examine abnormal system operations and recurring functional issues, identify root causes, and propose corrective measures.

• Enhance system performance, control strategies, consistency, and standardization across EMS/BAS platforms.

• Evaluate load calculations, equipment submissions, HVAC system alternatives, and retrofit approaches.

• Aid RTU replacement initiatives by assessing equipment choices, replacement strategies, right-sizing options, and new technologies.

• Oversee assigned capital projects from start to finish, including planning, scope creation, budgeting, scheduling, vendor coordination, execution, commissioning, and project closeout.

• Ensure project delivery is safe, on time, within budget, and complies with company engineering standards.

• Provide mechanical engineering expertise for capital projects within the Sustainability team.

• Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders, vendors, and project partners to ensure effective project execution and delivery.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, energy engineering, or a related discipline, along with at least 7 years of progressively responsible professional experience in the relevant engineering field, or a Master’s degree.

• PMP, CEM, or PE credentials are preferred but not mandatory.

• In-depth knowledge of commercial HVAC systems, building controls, and mechanical building systems, including RTUs, boilers, chillers, and BAS/EMS.

• Functional understanding of electrical building systems related to HVAC equipment and controls.

• Minimum of 7 years of experience in mechanical engineering, energy engineering, or commercial building systems.

• Preferred experience with HVAC equipment selection, building system optimization, and capital improvement projects.

• Familiarity with utility efficiency programs, rebates, and incentive opportunities is desirable.

• Knowledge of commercial building automation, control systems applications and sequencing, and energy management systems.

• Understanding of remote multi-site project management principles, practices, and techniques.

• Strong proficiency in BACnet, Tridium Niagara, and Microsoft Suite.

• Skills in vendor, contract, and budget management.

• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

• Capacity to independently manage multiple projects to completion in a timely manner.

• Proven problem-solving and engineering analysis skills.

• Strong data analytical and quantitative skills, including proficiency in Excel.

• Proficient in analytic and/or Fault Detection & Diagnosis (FDD) software.
