• Implement the Employee Relations (ER) framework for assigned client groups, including strategies and proposals aimed at continuously enhancing ER practices within the organization, rooted in trust, mutual respect, strong performance management, and accountability in alignment with organizational objectives.
• Assist in executing a comprehensive communication strategy to promote ER best practices across the organization.
• Maintain and update HR policies, procedures, and practices to ensure compliance, improve the workplace environment, and foster company culture.
• Evaluate employment risks in collaboration with HR leadership and Legal, considering the current regulatory landscape and anticipated changes.
• Lead the resolution of employee issues, complaints, and complex investigations across functions and regions, partnering with other HR, Legal, and compliance teams.
• Ensure that cases are managed fairly, consistently, transparently, and promptly, in accordance with Airbnb culture, policies, and relevant local laws. Lead employee relations investigations, making recommendations on appropriate courses of action, tailored to the complexity, risk, sensitivity, and confidentiality of each case.
• Advise HR and business leaders on ER issues, trends, and risks to facilitate informed business decisions.
• Assist in the development, promotion, and implementation of ER processes, strategies, guidelines, practices, and operating procedures.
• Ensure that optimal decisions are made by leaders, Talent Partners, and other stakeholders through effective influence, coaching, and provision of technical expertise and sound strategy.
• Propel ER initiatives that support HR and business goals.
• Help design and deliver training for leaders, managers, employees, Talent Partners, and other stakeholders.
• Maintain a well-organized case management system; capable of running analytics and metrics and generating dashboards.
• Gather, analyze, and interpret ER-related data to provide actionable recommendations.
• Establish and execute the ER strategy.
• 15+ years of experience in Employee Relations/Human Resources managing complex global investigations.
• Exceptional written and oral communication skills along with strong analytical capabilities.
• Ability to stay composed, maintain a positive and collaborative demeanor, and remain objective under pressure while engaging with senior leaders and addressing complex issues.
• Proven history of positively influencing leaders, teams, and stakeholders.
• Capability to act as a coach, mentor, and partner with stakeholders at various levels of seniority.
• Expert knowledge in ER, labor relations, training, conflict resolution, and direct experience in leading complex global investigations at all levels, including executive levels.
• Strong preference for direct experience in supporting international ER matters.
• Comprehensive understanding of FMLA, EEO laws, ADA, and other employment-related state and federal laws and regulations.
• Must be able to perform under pressure and tackle complex issues while maintaining composure.
• Comfortable using generative AI tools (e.g., Claude, Gemini, etc.) to expedite daily tasks.
• Experienced decision-maker who employs sound reasoning and judgment.
• Ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality is essential.
• Must be self-motivated with a strong ability to prioritize and plan in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree is preferred.
• Some travel may be necessary.
