Senior Employee Benefits Analyst – Public Sector

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Oversee intricate renewal analyses across all types of coverage, including both non-marketed and negotiated plans.

• Assess claims experience, utilization patterns, and financial outcomes to pinpoint risks, opportunities, and cost drivers.

• Formulate strategic, data-informed recommendations that support long-term benefits planning and funding approaches.

• Spearhead the development and implementation of Request for Proposal (RFP) processes for designated clients.

• Evaluate and contrast carrier proposals, highlighting competitive positioning and financial implications.

• Assist and engage in carrier negotiations alongside the Benefits Consultant.

• Create and present advanced financial and management reports.

• Share renewal analyses, performance outcomes, and recommendations with client personnel, committees, and leadership teams.

• Convert complex financial and healthcare data into clear, concise insights focused on client needs.

• Collaborate with Benefits Consultants on strategic planning and the design of client benefit programs.

• Act as a vital analytical resource for assigned clients, aiding in decision-making and plan optimization.

• Play a role in assessing and recommending new services, vendors, or program improvements.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, Economics, Business Administration, Public Health, or a related discipline.

• 5+ years of experience in employee benefits, analytics, brokerage, or consulting.

• Advanced expertise in renewal and financial analysis, claims and utilization reporting, as well as RFP development and carrier evaluations.

• Strong understanding of fully insured and self-funded benefit plans.

• Familiarity with employee benefits regulations, including ACA and COBRA.

• Experience in the public sector is preferred.
