Senior Electrical Engineering Consultant – Renewable Energy

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Act as the electrical engineering lead for owner's engineer projects related to utility-scale solar and battery energy storage.

• Develop EPC RFP packages for solar and battery energy storage, along with relevant technical specifications.

• Assess EPC proposals to aid in the selection of preferred EPC contractors.

• Provide technical assistance during negotiations of EPC contracts.

• Create or evaluate specifications for major power transformers, BESS/PV collection system components, and other essential equipment.

• Analyze EPC contractors' electrical engineering design drawings and supporting calculations.

• Lead initiatives involving renewable low-voltage DC and AC systems.

• Oversee AC collection system tasks for solar and battery projects.

• Manage collector substation and interconnecting substation expansion activities.

• Supervise gen-tie transmission efforts.

• Engage directly with power plant developers, owners, lenders, and investors during consulting services.

• Guide teams in utilizing automation and AI to enhance engineering workflows and designs.

• Supervise engineers who are programming or scripting automation tasks, including reviewing automated outputs.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.

• Over 8 years of experience in electrical engineering design for utility-scale solar and battery energy storage projects as part of an EPC team or as an Owner's Engineer.

• Proven experience on at least one utility-scale project with direct engineering involvement during the development of IFC design.

• Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.

• Strong interpersonal skills and capability to collaborate with and mentor others.

• Willingness or capability to lead teams using data, automation, AI, and modern tools to enhance workflows and minimize rework.

• Ability to manage engineers utilizing Python, MATLAB, or advanced Excel for engineering automation; this is valued but not mandatory.

• Additional qualifications such as a minor, certificate, or experience in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, or related fields are appreciated.
