This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take charge of the complete PCB layout process for digital, analog, RF, mixed-signal, high-speed, and high-power designs utilizing Altium Designer.
• Convert electrical schematics, mechanical constraints, and system-level requirements into compact, high-density, and manufacturable PCB layouts.
• Design and maintain PCB footprints, symbols, and component libraries within Altium Designer.
• Establish stack-ups and manage impedance control for high-speed differential pairs, RF transmission lines, and DDR4/DDR5 interfaces.
• Formulate routing strategies for high-speed serial links, RF paths, and DDR4/DDR5 buses, encompassing length matching, skew control, via strategies, and crosstalk mitigation.
• Enhance layouts for thermal performance and current handling in high-power designs.
• Collaborate with electrical engineers, mechanical engineers, manufacturing partners, and program teams.
• Perform design reviews and integrate feedback to satisfy signal integrity, power integrity, RF performance, reliability, and regulatory standards.
• Produce fabrication and assembly documentation, including Gerber/ODB++ files, drawings, and build packages.
• Operate within configuration-controlled environments and adhere to documentation, revision-control, and release processes.
• Assist with prototype builds, troubleshooting, and iterative design enhancements, including debugging high-speed/DDR interfaces and addressing high-power thermal or layout challenges.
• A Bachelor’s degree with 6+ years of relevant experience OR 4+ years of relevant experience paired with a graduate degree; 10+ years of relevant experience may be accepted in place of a degree.
• Professional experience in PCB design within a production environment.
• Advanced proficiency with Altium Designer as the primary PCB CAD tool.
• Experience in designing intricate, multi-layer boards, including high-power PCBs in compact form factors, high-speed digital interfaces, RF/mixed-signal sections, and controlled-impedance routing.
• Practical experience with DDR4 and/or DDR5 memory layout, including routing topologies, length matching, skew control, and reference plane management.
• Familiarity with DFM/DFT, PCB fabrication processes, and assembly constraints, including high-current routing, creepage/clearance, and thermal management for high-power designs.
• Exceptional communication skills and the ability to collaborate across engineering disciplines.
• Experience with other advanced PCB tools is advantageous.
• Understanding of signal integrity and power integrity principles for high-speed digital and RF designs.
• Experience using SI/PI and RF simulation tools such as HyperLynx, SIwave, ADS, Altium simulation features, or equivalent.
• Knowledge of implementing EMI/EMC best practices.
• Familiarity with IPC standards, including IPC-2221 and IPC-7351.
• Awareness of MIL-STD, DO-254, or other aerospace/defense design standards.
