Distinguished Hardware Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Collaborate closely with the entire team focused on photonic integrated circuits, encompassing both silicon photonics and III-V device designs.

• Conduct simulations, develop foundry processes, manage production tapeouts, perform PIC testing, and provide production support.

• Design, simulate, layout, and test various photonic components and circuits.

• Work in conjunction with teams responsible for millimeter-wave design, packaging, and the testing of module hardware, software, and optics.

• Contribute to the development of comprehensive high-speed optical communications products.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree accompanied by 17 years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree with 14 years of related experience, or a PhD with 10 years of pertinent experience.

• Proficiency in solid-state physics, integrated photonics, and opto-electronics.

• Familiarity with principles and tools for photonics numerical simulation, including FDTD, HFSS, and COMSOL.

• Experience in the process and fabrication of photonic devices.

• Competence in photonic device layout and tapeout processes.

• Demonstrated ability in designing, simulating, and testing high-speed electronic or optical devices.

• Experience in testing photonic components.

• Background in large-scale photonic circuit tape-outs at commercial foundries.
