This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Lead technical electrical engineering efforts for intricate projects.

• Monitor project advancement, encompassing scope, timeline, and budget.

• Supervise technical evaluations and ensure the delivery of high-quality outputs.

• Possess comprehensive knowledge to guide the team on models, plans, details, and schematics of electrical engineering systems and components in alignment with established standards and modeling techniques.

• Exhibit extensive expertise to mentor the team in electrical design across various systems, including medium-voltage distribution, microgrids, photovoltaic solutions, battery systems, building power systems, lighting design, and low-voltage systems.

• Demonstrate in-depth knowledge to advise the team on electrical calculations, such as SKM analysis, arc flash assessments, and photometric calculations (preferably using AGI or Elumtools).

• Facilitate the professional growth and technical skill enhancement of team members.

• Inspire and motivate team members.

• Effectively communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

• Cultivate a collaborative team environment focused on innovation and excellence, encouraging team members to explore new ideas and think creatively.

• Manage and adjust project and staffing plans to accommodate evolving project demands.

• Oversee all phases of engineering projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery, adherence to budget, and compliance with quality standards.

• Act as a technical specialist and discipline representative at various meetings and events as needed.

• Present at conferences, networking events, and professional organizations to showcase Woolpert's unique and innovative services to clients.

• Conduct training sessions for internal staff when necessary.


⛳️ Requirements

• BA/BS or MA/MS in a related discipline with fifteen (15) years of pertinent experience.

• Professional Engineer (PE) certification is mandatory.

• At least 10 years of experience in leading engineering projects.

• Proficient in building power systems, lighting design, medium-voltage distribution, SKM analysis, and photometric calculations (preferably using AGI or Elumtools).

• Background in designing building electrical systems for commercial, mixed-use, aviation, hospitality, and/or high-rise developments is preferred.

• Experience in creating sustainable building systems, with knowledge of LEED, the Green Building Institute, or other sustainability certifications.

• Exceptional presentation, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills for both internal and external engagements.

• Familiarity with discipline-related software applications and calculation tools.

• Significant experience in designing with Autodesk Revit 3-D modeling software and overseeing the production of construction documents.

• Proven ability to conduct and lead QAQC and coordinate design documents across disciplines.

• Skilled in reading, analyzing, and interpreting complex documents such as scientific and technical journals, handbooks, and industry publications.

• Capable of providing effective responses to sensitive inquiries from clients, regulatory bodies, and/or business community members.

• Proficient in writing technical opinions, articles, and thought leadership content for social media using innovative techniques or styles.

• Willingness to travel to project sites or offices as required.
