Senior Electrical Designer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.

📋 Description

• Develop and assess high-efficiency DC/DC converters, switching regulators, and power switching circuits utilizing GaN FETs and other cutting-edge semiconductor technologies.

• Conduct worst-case, stability, and thermal circuit analyses to ensure alignment with mission specifications.

• Produce schematics and documentation utilizing the OrCAD tool suite.

• Oversee PCB layout and design evaluations in collaboration with layout engineers.

• Assist in component selection for space-related applications, focusing on derating, radiation tolerance, and reliability factors.

• Create and maintain design documentation, analyses, and review data packages for internal and customer assessments.

• Aid in hardware bring-up, validation testing, and integration with spacecraft electrical power and avionics systems.

• Partner with systems, manufacturing, and test engineering to guarantee design maturity and readiness for production.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.

• At least 5 years of experience in designing electronic circuits using industry-standard ECAD design tools.

• Proficiency in analog circuit design, including both isolated and non-isolated switched-mode power supplies with discrete components.

• Knowledge of common and differential mode power filtering, as well as active filter and amplifier design, and high-side FET drives.

• Familiarity with GaN FETs.

• Expertise in OrCAD X, Allegro X, and Altium Designer for schematic capture and PCB layout.

• Experience with SPICE-based simulation tools.

• Background in working with SMPS, load switches, op-amps, and comparators.

• Experience with FPGA, microcontroller, or microprocessor-based control and telemetry interfaces.

• Willingness to travel as necessary, averaging up to 10%.
