Senior Domain Expert, Labor Economist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of a segment of Syndio's methodology and asset library, such as comparator group logic, regression modeling, or remediation methodology.

• Lead a small team as a senior individual contributor, directing its roadmap, prioritizing tasks, and upholding technical standards.

• Utilize statistical methods to address complex customer scenarios, including atypical workforce structures, small-group modeling, contested comparator selections, and innovative regulatory tests.

• Create scalable customer briefings, methodology guides, model documentation, and practical examples.

• Collaborate with Product and AI teams to integrate methodology into Decisions and Essentials.

• Convert custom analytics into product specifications and assist product and development teams with design and implementation strategies.

• Evaluate model outputs and identify edge cases.

• Lead customer QBRs, regulatory inflection points, and discussions adjacent to the board.

• Highlight methodological gaps and customer trends to Principal-level colleagues and Product.

• Collaborate with data science and development teams to enhance outcomes for total rewards customers.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of practical quantitative experience in labor economics, statistics, econometrics, industrial-organizational psychology, or a closely related field, applied to compensation, workforce, or pay equity issues.

• Strong proficiency in regression modeling and comparator methodology.

• Capability to construct a defensible pay equity model, articulate its limitations, and justify methodological decisions to non-technical audiences.

• Skill in translating quantitative rigor into actionable insights for CHROs, works councils, or CSMs.

• Experience in embedding methodology within a product, tool, or replicable workflow.

• Sound judgment regarding what data substantiates versus what customers hope it will convey.

• Proven history of creating content, documentation, or enablement materials.

• Comfort in translating quantitative expertise into AI-driven product capabilities.

• Background in HR tech, compensation, people analytics, or a similarly data-driven enterprise domain is a significant advantage.
