Senior Distributed Systems Engineer – Tech Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Design and oversee the implementation of system modifications that ensure high performance, scalability, and observability for the worldwide display and tracking of advertisements. Create tools and optimizations to achieve measurable enhancements in key user performance metrics.

• Execute, test, deploy, monitor, and maintain HTTP / gRPC services and batch jobs in Java and Python, covering all aspects including environment setup, configuration code writing, and production monitoring, while upholding high engineering standards.

• Offer hands-on technical guidance: addressing complex system challenges, engaging in project planning and scoping, and guaranteeing that the highest coding standards are met through active participation in code reviews.

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong understanding of the functionality of complex IT systems, encompassing hardware, software, and algorithms.

• Solid knowledge of fundamental Internet protocols and technologies such as DNS, HTTP, cookies, and others.

• Proficient in basic methods for developing concurrent programs and distributed systems, from thread-level to geo-distributed cluster-level.

• Practical capability to observe, monitor, and analyze the performance of production systems, drawing valuable insights from the data.

• Ability to critically evaluate solutions in terms of performance, from theoretical performance estimation of designed systems to identifying and resolving actual performance issues in production.

• General knowledge of common challenges and solutions in the domains of 'high scalability' and 'high availability'.

• Proficiency in English and Polish at a C1 level.
