Senior Distributed Systems Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Assist in the development of large-scale, real-time services and applications that utilize our extensive datasets to enhance internal APIs and external applications.

• Create tools, libraries, frameworks, and services that facilitate security, research, and data platform initiatives.

• Transform prototypes into dependable internal tools, services, or platform functionalities.

• Engage in planning and technical discussions with engineering and product teams to devise effective solutions.

• Design and uphold systems including data pipelines, messaging systems, databases, caching layers, and services operating in the cloud or on-premises.

• Collaborate with Machine Learning Engineers and Security Researchers to implement solutions that influence security outcomes.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of software engineering experience in developing distributed systems (e.g., data ingestion pipelines, databases, services).

• Proficiency in object-oriented programming—our primary language is Go.

• Experience with at least one cloud service provider, such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.

• Familiarity with messaging queue technologies, including AWS Kinesis, Google Pub/Sub, Kafka, or similar.

• Experience working with databases like BigTable, Cloud Spanner, HBase, Cassandra, or others.

• Strong understanding of fundamental distributed systems concepts such as scalability, fault tolerance, and reliability.

• Familiarity with AI applications.

• Capable of writing clear, testable code with a focus on maintainability.

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with other engineers and product managers.

• Willingness to leverage AI to enhance skills and improve work outcomes—showing curiosity, a desire to learn, and sound judgment in the responsible application of AI to boost efficiency and impact.
