• Identify and assess strategic opportunities with high value in storage adjacent areas such as software, platforms, services, and innovative business models.
• Evaluate market potential within Software-Defined Storage (SDS), storage management systems, data orchestration, and tiered storage solutions.
• Analyze new business models including Storage-as-a-Service, consumption-based pricing, and platform partnerships.
• Create frameworks for making informed decisions regarding build vs. buy vs. partner for software and platform opportunities.
• Pinpoint white space opportunities where Western Digital's capabilities offer distinctive competitive advantages, examining strategic alignment and potential for value creation in relation to the core hardware business.
• Formulate strategic methods to address the needs of hyperscale environments, neoclouds, and sovereign cloud projects.
• Examine infrastructure trends among customers and storage needs that go beyond traditional hardware solutions.
• Assess opportunities in storage management software, data placement, and intelligent tiering solutions.
• Design and implement strategic partnership frameworks for software vendors, cloud service providers, and system integrators.
• Background in management consulting, corporate strategy, or business development with an emphasis on technology platforms and ecosystems.
• Experience at a prestigious management consulting firm is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated success in developing platform strategies, ecosystem frameworks, and innovative business models for technology enterprises.
• Extensive experience in cloud infrastructure, neoclouds, data storage, or enterprise infrastructure markets is strongly preferred.
• Exceptional strategic thinking skills, with profound knowledge in platform strategy, two-sided markets, and ecosystem dynamics.
• Excellent analytical and financial modeling abilities, including the development of business cases.
• An MBA from a leading business school is mandatory.
• A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or a related analytical discipline is required.
