This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Lead one or multiple accounts by defining and driving comprehensive medical/scientific communication strategies (publication planning, communications tactics).
• Act as a primary scientific liaison for client stakeholders and clinical leads; ensure alignment of scientific strategy with brand priorities.
• Implement quality standards and best practices within assigned teams.
• Supervise the production of high-quality content across manuscripts, congress materials, training content, digital assets, and MLR-regulated documents.
• Conduct thorough scientific reviews to ensure accuracy, alignment, and stylistic consistency (AMA, client style guides, journal/congress guidelines).
• Guarantee compliance with pertinent industry standards (e.g., Good Publication Practices, International Committee of Medical Journal Editors guidelines, PhRMA guidelines).
• Manage and defend submissions within MLR systems; independently resolve scientific issues.
• Facilitate scientific discussions, workshops, speaker training, and advisory boards; represent the organization externally.
• Provide scientific leadership in pitches and proposals; collaborate with Client Services on resource allocation, project scoping, and forecasting.
• Oversee 3–5 direct reports (writers/ASDs); perform performance evaluations, set goals, and mentor career development.
• Identify training requirements; develop structured plans to enhance capabilities.
• Contribute to project scoping and resource planning; proactively escalate risks.
• Assist in recruitment efforts for team hires.
• Ensure strong version control, documentation integrity, and compliance with internal procedures.
• Enhance scientific workflows and processes to boost consistency and efficiency.
• Anticipate risks and complex challenges; implement mitigation strategies and share therapeutic/industry insights to enhance team knowledge.
• Advanced degree in a scientific or healthcare-related discipline preferred (e.g., MSc, PhD, PharmD, MD).
• Candidates with a relevant bachelor’s or master’s degree plus substantial experience may be considered.
• Approximately 5+ years of experience in medical communications/medical writing, including leadership of multi-asset or multi-account teams and scientific oversight.
• At least 1+ years of experience in people management and coaching.
• Exceptional skills in scientific writing, editing, and data interpretation; thorough knowledge of publication standards where applicable.
• Strategic mindset and client leadership; proficient facilitation and presentation abilities.
• Strong grasp of clinical research and regulatory environment; adept at guiding MLR submissions.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, graphic and image generation software, and collaboration platforms.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
