Senior Director, Software Engineer

📋 Description

• Formulate and implement a comprehensive long-term engineering strategy.

• Ensure engineering investments are aligned with corporate growth goals and product strategies.

• Propel technology modernization and platform advancements.

• Supervise various engineering managers and software development teams.

• Cultivate high-performing engineering leaders through coaching and succession planning.

• Collaborate with the SVP of Engineering and executive leadership on strategic initiatives.

• Communicate engineering strategy, risks, and progress to the executive leadership team.

• Influence decisions regarding company technology investments.

• Manage relationships with vendors and outsourced engineering resources.

• Enhance engineering investments through effective capacity planning and resource allocation.

• Promote improvements in DORA metrics.

• Implement AI-assisted software development methodologies.

• Advocate for engineering productivity initiatives.

• Oversee engineering governance.

• Direct software development teams in delivering secure and scalable customer-facing applications.

• Manage the entire software development lifecycle from planning to production support.

• Partner with Product Management to prioritize strategic initiatives.

• Advocate for Agile, DevSecOps, CI/CD, automated testing, AI-assisted development, and engineering quality.

• Collaborate with Customer Success and Support teams to enhance customer experience.

• Ensure applications are reliable, secure, performant, and subject to continuous improvement.

• Monitor and report on engineering KPIs, including delivery performance, software quality, reliability, customer satisfaction, and organizational effectiveness.

• Identify and report any suspicious or incorrect activities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 15 years of experience in software engineering.

• More than 8 years of experience leading engineering organizations at various management levels.

• Proven experience managing Directors, Managers, and geographically distributed engineering teams.

• Experience in leading cloud-native SaaS platforms at an enterprise scale.

• Demonstrated success in building high-performing engineering organizations.

• Familiarity with AI-enabled software development practices.

• Prior experience in presenting engineering strategies to executive leadership and boards is preferred.

• Preferred experience in healthcare technology, payments, or regulated SaaS environments.
