
Senior Director, Program Management Maturation β Delivery

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
β’ Act as the principal program management associate supporting an assigned Chief Innovation Office leader β initially focusing on the Oncology & Neurodegenerative Disease leader β by connecting various complex programs, anticipating requirements, and offering a comprehensive, integrative perspective to the collaboration.
β’ Guide, mentor, and enhance the program management team β establishing standards and operational methods, prioritizing across the portfolio, and exercising discernment on when to engage closely and when to empower the team to operate independently.
β’ Evolve and modernize the program management function by integrating AI-driven tools, automation, and contemporary operational methods that surpass traditional, linear program management to keep pace with innovation.
β’ Take ownership of end-to-end delivery against established strategic and financial objectives, aligning priorities, resources, and execution across the designated portfolio while functioning as a peer to the senior leaders accountable for those sectors.
β’ Identify inconsistencies and early signs of shifting priorities or risks, ensuring alignment of priorities, resources, and execution across the designated portfolio.
β’ Implement, maintain, and continuously enhance the operating model in collaboration with Danaher Business System (DBS) and Operations Excellence partners β defining roles, decision rights, and operational methods throughout the ecosystem.
β’ Convert scientific advancements, clinical evidence, and technology roadmaps into clear business implications and execution priorities, smoothly transitioning between scientific and business contexts for senior stakeholders.
β’ Spearhead cross-functional initiatives and change programs in uncertain, upstream environments β fostering alignment and accountability across operating companies and external partners and vendors, being firm when necessary and a bridge-builder by nature.
β’ Advanced degree (PhD, MD, or equivalent) in a life sciences discipline; or a bachelor's degree in a scientific field with relevant additional experience.
β’ 12+ years of progressively responsible functional experience in program or portfolio management, operations, or delivery within diagnostics, biotechnology, or pharmaceuticals.
β’ 5+ years of leadership experience, including direct management of program managers or equivalent professionals.
β’ Proven experience in implementing operating models, governance frameworks, or process-excellence systems at scale.
β’ Proven experience in applying AI and/or automation tools to program management, operations, or knowledge-work processes.
β’ Proven experience in translating scientific or clinical concepts into business, investment, or commercialization implications.
β’ Proven experience leading cross-functional programs across a matrixed organization, including operating companies and external partners.
β’ Willingness to travel up to approximately 20-30%, as required, for key leadership, governance, and program forums.
