
Senior Director, Philanthropy Communications, Donor Relations

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Create engaging proposals, cases for support, and solicitation materials for significant, principal, and transformative gift opportunities.
• Develop donor-centric impact reports, presentations, stewardship materials, letters, and cultivation collateral.
• Conduct interviews with physicians, scientists, researchers, philanthropy leaders, donors, and other stakeholders to collect content and enhance storytelling.
• Act as a strategic communications partner for fundraising teams by crafting donor engagement and communication strategies.
• Lead the development of key messaging, white papers, and communications for major philanthropy initiatives and priorities.
• Collaborate with teams in philanthropy, marketing, digital communications, donor experience, and enterprise leadership.
• Create fundraising toolkits, templates, and communication resources.
• Manage multiple donor-facing projects, timelines, stakeholder engagement, review cycles, and deliverables.
• Edit and enhance content produced by colleagues, freelance writers, and other contributors.
• Collaborate with internal and external creative teams on video, digital communications, branding, and special communication initiatives.
• A Bachelor's degree is required; relevant experience may be accepted as a substitute for educational qualifications.
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in philanthropy communications, donor relations, institutional communications, nonprofit communications, or related areas.
• Preferred experience in complex healthcare, academic medicine, higher education, or large nonprofit organizations.
• A strong portfolio showcasing outstanding writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
• Proven experience in project management, handling multiple priorities, deadlines, and stakeholder engagement.
• Prior experience in a supervisory or team leadership role is preferred.
• Exceptional communication and relationship-building abilities with senior leaders, physicians, faculty, and volunteers.
• Capability to convert intricate medical, scientific, or technical concepts into donor-friendly communications.
• Strong skills in strategic thinking, political insight, judgment, and collaboration.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Familiarity with PowerPoint and Adobe Creative Suite is preferred.
