This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Singapore.
• Define and take ownership of the retail vision, strategy, and annual operational plan for the APAC region, ensuring alignment with global sales, marketing, and product leadership.
• Identify, assess, and prioritize opportunities for market entry across APAC, encompassing direct retail, wholesale, travel retail, and innovative digital-to-physical formats.
• Develop the commercial framework for the region, including pricing strategies, channel segmentation, promotional structures, and principles for trade investment.
• Lead the business planning cycles on an annual and quarterly basis, managing the regional P&L and achieving targets for revenue, margin, and market share.
• Adapt global brand positioning into retail executions that resonate locally while considering the unique characteristics of each market in the region.
• Propel revenue growth and profitability across all channels in APAC.
• Set and meet ambitious sales targets and KPIs for retail, online, and new emerging channels.
• Analyze performance, monitor trends, and make critical decisions with limited information to navigate and seize opportunities.
• Evaluate and enhance commercial investments, including Marketing Development Funds/CO-OP, conditional and unconditional rebates, merchandising, and administrative support.
• Cultivate and sustain strategic relationships with key retail partners, major electronics retailers, department stores, specialty retailers, e-commerce platforms, distributors, and operator/carrier partners throughout APAC.
• Negotiate and oversee contracts, pricing structures, promotional calendars, and trading terms within diverse regulatory and commercial frameworks.
• Establish and scale programs for fixtures/displays, visual merchandising, 3PL logistics, training initiatives, and in-store brand experiences tailored to each market.
• Assemble the APAC commercial team from the ground up, recruiting, developing, and motivating a high-performing, culturally diverse team across multiple countries.
• Promote a culture of excellence, accountability, and entrepreneurial thinking as the business grows.
• Provide mentorship and career development opportunities for direct reports and extended teams, fostering the development of future leaders within the organization.
• Oversee hiring and succession planning for senior roles throughout the region.
• Manage the APAC retail budget, including headcount, trade investment, Marketing Development Funds/co-op, and operational expenditures.
• Deliver accurate and timely forecasting and business reporting to senior leadership, presenting a clear commercial narrative with a proactive approach.
• Collaborate with finance to ensure precise tracking and reconciliation of all commercial provisions, including sales allowances, markdowns, and rebates.
• Continuously monitor the competitive landscape, market dynamics, and consumer trends to refine strategies and identify growth opportunities.
• A minimum of 12 years of progressive experience in retail sales, commercial, and account management roles within the consumer electronics or consumer products sector, with at least 7 years in a senior leadership position.
• A proven track record in building and scaling commercial operations in APAC markets, ideally possessing direct experience in at least three of the following: ANZ, Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, Singapore. Experience in China is highly regarded.
• Extensive knowledge of various distribution channels, including direct retail, e-commerce, distributor/wholesale, specialty, and operator/carrier models.
• Demonstrated capability in building teams from the ground up, hiring across cultural lines, and leading through uncertainty in rapidly growing environments.
• Strong experience in P&L ownership, with a demonstrated ability to drive revenue growth and operational efficiency at a regional scale.
• Expertise in managing substantial marketing budgets, conducting partner marketing negotiations, and optimizing expenditures for measurable impact.
• Experience in leading large-scale fixture/display programs and visual merchandising for top-tier retailers, including 3PL initiatives, training, and maintenance.
• Exceptional negotiation, relationship-building, and communication skills across diverse cultural settings.
• Strong strategic thinking, analytical capabilities, and project management skills.
