Senior Director of Global Operations

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Oversee and develop Wing’s operational framework for scalable drone delivery.

• Assemble the launch team for new markets in the US and globally while ensuring that current markets achieve operational and strategic OKRs and adhere to aviation regulations.

• Collaborate with the Partnerships, Commercial Real Estate, BizOps, and Regulatory departments on the deployment, licensing, establishment, and operationalization of drone delivery and retail locations.

• Analyze site-level unit economics, including delivery costs, labor efficiency, and fleet availability.

• Work alongside Product, Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Partnerships teams to implement aircraft hardware, software features, and merchant integrations.

• Build, manage, and expand an operations workforce consisting of employees, contractors, and vendors.

• Advocate for AI-driven tools and automated workforce scheduling to optimize labor allocation, fleet maintenance predictions, and ground diagnostics.

• Ensure adherence to aviation regulations, EHS policies, and local site safety standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 25 years of progressive operational leadership experience in managing hyper-growth physical operations, intricate multi-site networks, and last-mile logistics systems.

• Strong commercial focus with a comprehensive understanding of operational P&L management, unit economics, labor scheduling optimization, and cost-per-delivery factors.

• Demonstrated experience in scaling distributed field operations utilizing contractor, vendor, 3PL, and full-time employee workforces.

• Background in integrating advanced technology, AI tools, or algorithmic automation into everyday operational processes.

• Exceptional problem-solving and critical thinking capabilities.

• Experience in balancing safety and compliance requirements with rapid growth demands.

• Ability to collaborate effectively across technology, product engineering, regulatory affairs, and enterprise partnerships teams.

• Bachelor’s degree in Operations, Engineering, Business, Logistics, or equivalent practical experience.
