This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee labor relations initiatives, programs, and the implementation of strategies that align with company goals and foster the “You Matter” culture.
• Act as the primary spokesperson during contract negotiations and implement labor policies.
• Provide guidance and counsel in grievance-arbitration issues and occasionally represent the company in labor arbitration proceedings.
• Manage the preparation and presentation of responses to National Labor Relations Act (NLRA) allegations.
• Stay updated on labor relations trends, legal precedents, and best practices within the distribution industry.
• Lead the preparation and execution of negotiations for labor contracts.
• Evaluate and create training programs in labor and employee relations in collaboration with business leaders.
• Collaborate with Executive Leadership, Supply Chain and Field Operations leadership, Human Resources, Legal, and Finance teams.
• Work alongside union representatives, the NLRB, external labor counsel, industry associations, and consultants.
• Carry out other responsibilities as assigned by the manager.
• A minimum of 7 years of experience in labor relations, including relevant roles in retail, wholesale, manufacturing, consumer products, or distribution.
• At least 3 years of experience presenting cases to the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB).
• Extensive background in developing and executing labor relations strategies.
• Practical experience in negotiating collective bargaining agreements and labor contracts.
• Demonstrated ability to influence leaders from frontline supervisors to C-Suite executives.
• Willingness to travel up to 75% of the time, with an average travel commitment of around 50%.
• A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required.
• Advanced understanding of labor law and grievance-arbitration procedures.
• Experience in leading labor relations in large, multi-site organizations.
• Proven track record in building positive labor-management relationships and promoting a “You Matter” culture.
• Strong analytical skills to assess labor trends and data for strategic decision-making.
• Proven ability to develop and mentor labor relations teams or HR professionals.
• Experience handling high-profile or complex labor disputes with measurable outcomes.
• A law degree is preferred.
