This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
β’ Oversee comprehensive HR operations, including HRIS management, employee record maintenance, payroll coordination, and benefits administration for a diverse, global workforce.
β’ Create and implement onboarding and offboarding programs that ensure a positive experience for new hires during their first 30 days and provide departing employees with a smooth, compliant exit.
β’ Develop and maintain HR policies, employee handbook materials, and leave-of-absence processes that are clear, up-to-date, and effectively followed.
β’ Ensure CrewAI remains compliant with federal, state, and local employment laws as it expands by monitoring evolving requirements and translating them into actionable procedures.
β’ Collaborate with the Finance team on payroll accuracy, benefits invoicing, and headcount reporting; work alongside hiring managers to streamline the employee lifecycle for efficiency.
β’ Generate reports and metrics such as headcount, attrition rates, time-to-onboard, and benefits usage to assist leadership in decision-making.
β’ Identify opportunities to enhance manual, error-prone HR operations through improved processes, tools, or automation.
β’ A minimum of 4 years of experience in HR operations, preferably including experience at a rapidly growing startup where you had to establish processes rather than merely execute them.
β’ Practical experience managing an HRIS (e.g., Rippling, Gusto, BambooHR, Workday, or similar), along with payroll and benefits administration.
β’ Familiarity with U.S. employment law and multi-state compliance; you understand your knowledge gaps and when to consult legal experts.
β’ A preference for developing scalable systems over one-off solutions, combined with the discernment to recognize when a quick manual fix is appropriate.
β’ Exceptional attention to detail when handling sensitive information, along with strong written and verbal communication skills β you can clearly articulate a policy to employees as well as convey risks to leadership.
β’ Ability to navigate ambiguity: you can transform the directive "we need HR ops to exist" into a functioning system without extensive guidance.
β’ Nice to have: Experience establishing HR operations in a company that grew from approximately 20 to over 100 employees.
β’ Nice to have: Familiarity with international employment matters (EOR platforms, contractor compliance, or global payroll).
β’ Nice to have: Experience in a technical, engineering-focused, or AI/ML organization.
β’ Nice to have: Knowledge of people analytics tools or experience building dashboards in Looker, Tableau, or similar platforms.
β’ Competitive salary and equity options.
β’ Remote-friendly culture with flexible work arrangements.
β’ Budget for professional development.
β’ Access to LLM credits and state-of-the-art tools.
β’ A unique opportunity to establish a People function from scratch at a company pioneering a new category.
