Senior Director, Hardware

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Oversee the design and development for the international hardware engineering team.

• Collaborate with Software and Product leaders to establish hardware architecture, focusing on silicon selection and system power, thermal, and mechanical choices consistent with target COGs.

• Facilitate multidisciplinary hardware development encompassing board and system design, power, signal integrity, ECAD, mechanical/thermal aspects, validation, and compliance.

• Assess design-for-manufacturing, reliability, and quality trade-offs.

• Provide visibility into performance, risks, and priorities for executive leadership.

• Manage career planning, compensation, employee development, hiring, and resource allocation within the hardware organization.

• Influence hardware product strategy and roadmap creation while impacting revenue, cost structure, and customer delivery.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (EE) or Computer Engineering (CE).

• Over 15 years of technical experience.

• More than 10 years of experience in technical and people leadership.

• Relevant background in designing hardware products, including architecture, PCB design, power management, and logic design.

• Demonstrated experience in supporting new product introductions and influencing cross-functional decision-making.

• Proven ability to drive hardware development through internal and JDM/ODM models.

• Capable of operating effectively at the executive level with both internal and external JDM and supply-chain executives.

• Experience in building and leading high-performing teams.

• Strong strategic communication, operational, and financial skills.

• Preferred: experience with servers, network security, firewalls, and/or edge networking products.

• Preferred: knowledge of platform software requirements and architectural decision-making for integrated systems.

• Preferred: capability to drive decisions across mechanical/thermal, signal integrity, ECAD, diagnostics, validation, and compliance functions.

• Preferred: familiarity with global JDM/ODM ecosystems, particularly in Asia.

• Preferred: collaboration with Software, Marketing, and Supply Chain leadership for go-to-market strategies and product lifecycle management.
