This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +12 more states.
• Facilitates the operational excellence of the fraud program within the Enterprise Compliance Advisory function.
• Leads the incident response team for fraud-related occurrences, which includes fraud prevention efforts.
• Provides regular updates to the Chief Compliance Officer regarding fraud incidents.
• Acts as the MVB liaison with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies to identify, report, mitigate fraud, and recover losses.
• Conducts the annual fraud risk assessment, evaluating MVB’s enterprise customers, products/services, and geographies for inherent and residual risks.
• Responsible for addressing and remediating any fraud-related issues arising from audits, examinations, or compliance testing.
• Manages all dimensions of fraud reporting at every level, tailored appropriately to the audience.
• Collaborates with partners across the enterprise to support the management of the fraud program's initiatives.
• Develops and maintains policies, procedures, and training materials related to the fraud program.
• Works alongside external fraud consultants as necessary to manage incidents and establish strategies.
• Serves as the General Manager for MVB-owned fraud subsidiary, Paladin.
• Acts as the escalation point for front-line fraud incidents and offers guidance on effective fraud risk mitigation and remediation in line with business policies and regulatory standards.
• Evaluates fraud trends, operational performance, and process effectiveness both quantitatively and qualitatively.
• Participates in Enterprise Compliance and FinCrime Committees, sharing findings and metrics from the fraud program with Enterprise Compliance leadership.
• Coordinates with the Onboarding and Due Diligence operations team to appropriately assess the fraud risk posed by new Fintech partners.
• Provides active oversight and guidance to staff involved in investigative matters related to fraud.
• Oversees quality assurance initiatives to ensure that investigators are effectively and accurately completing fraud investigations.
• Develops and implements onboarding and ongoing training programs to maintain high levels of customer service and knowledge of new and emerging threats.
• Manages access and use of fraud tools and technologies for assessing fraud risk (LexisNexis, Clear, ChexSystems, Q2, Alloy, etc.).
• Serves as the primary contact for client escalations and fraud risk concerning VIP clients.
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience is required.
• A minimum of 10+ years of overall fraud operations experience, including at least 5+ years in managing front-line fraud investigators or fraud operations, or a second-line fraud risk oversight team is required.
• Over 10 years of experience in fraud investigations with knowledge and experience in bank operations is required.
• Experience in banking-as-a-service and/or with fintechs is preferred.
• At least 5+ years of experience in a fraud analytics or operations role is preferred.
• A minimum of 5+ years of experience in exam/audit and issues management is preferred.
• Fraud experience must encompass a combination of card, ACH, and check.
• Exceptional communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation) are essential.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio) is required.
• Certification as an Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (ACAMS)/Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE)/Certified AML and Fraud Professional (CAFP) is preferred.
